Temperature in the whelping room is 80 degrees, as puppies can't regulate their own temperature yet. The 'markings' that you see are blue (males) and pink (females) nail polish, all marked in different places on their bodies. Puppies�are weighed daily and their weights are recorded by these markings, in order to monitor their weight�gain. Any puppies not gaining as much as others are concentrated on for more time at the 'food trough.'
